Coaxial cable can be divided into baseband coaxial cable and broadband coaxial cable (namely network coaxial cable and video coaxial cable).Coaxial cable 50Ω baseband cable and 75 Ω broadband cable.

Baseband cable include thin coaxial cable and thick coaxial cable.Baseband cable is only used for digital transmission, data rate up to 10Mbps.

The broadband cable is the standard used in the CATV system, which can transmit analog or digital signals using frequency division multiplexing.

Coaxial cable is more expensive than twisted pair, but its anti-interference performance is stronger than twisted pair.Coaxial cable can be used when more equipment is connected and communication capacity is quite large.
